Date: Sunday, May 1st

Location:

Skirmish USA - Jim Thorpe, PA

Cost: $71.57 Per Person

If it seems like a lot to play paintball - wait until you read what is included

  • admission to the fields - all day play from approx 10AM to 5 or 6PM depending on lighting conditions. This averages 6 - 10 games for the day depending on how organized the group is.
    • lunch - I am told that lunch is pretty good. Typical fare is chicken fingers or hamburgers and the like along with chips and a soda (there isn't a selection, it is what they are preparing for the day. If we have large numbers I will try to put in a request for chicken fingers)
    • paintball gun - A Tippmann Custom 98 semi-automatic paintball gun is included, but you may also bring and use your own if you have one. (The type of gun can be expected, but not guaranteed.)
    • goggles - required for playing
    • facemask - A sanitized facemask to protect your head is included with this package, but again if you have your own you are welcome to bring it.
    • Co2/N2 - Co2 is used to propel the paintballs. It is stored in a compressed tank that typically attaches to the gun and becomes the 'stock'. Free refills are included all day. Typically a tank will last anywhere from a few rounds to the entire day depending on how many shots that you take.
    • 750 paintballs - If you are a strategic type player this should last the day. If you shoot 100 shots a round at a tree, then you will be able to purchase more if you run out.

IMPORTANT: ALL PAINT USED MUST BE PURCHASED FROM SKIRMISH - YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BRING YOUR OWN PAINTBALLS

    • camouflage overalls - Some of the fields are literally fields! The camouflage not only helps you blend in, it also protects your clothes!
    • team photo - Not sure if everyone get a photo? But I will check.
    • private fields - We will not have to play with others outside our group.
    • referee - each group will have their own ref
    • SKIRMISH flag - Each round that is played as a 'capture the flag' type game will award that flag to the winning team.

Receipt of payment cut-off date will be MARCH 1st. Those who do not pay by that date will not be allowed to go. After MARCH 1st we will be putting a deposit to hold the space for the day. The deposit is $15.00 per player. There will be a window for a refund less the $15.00 per person already paid.

After April 17th, refunds will not be allowed. You may allow a friend or someone else to take your place. If money is held, and not required for our obligation to Skirmish, then the money will be donated to the NJGSWL treasury.

Transportation - We will try to create a central place and car pool from there, but transportation is the responsibility of the players, we aren't going to charter a bus at least for the first year. I suspect that the central point for meeting would be Clinton, NJ at a park-and-ride near there. We may make a north, central and south location if that makes things better. Car pooling will be the rule for the day... below are the directions from central NJ

From Central New Jersey

Take I-78 to Allentown, and then travel North on 309 to US 22 W. Follow US22 W. to PA 476 Turnpike (NE Extension). Take 476 North to Exit 74, Mahoning Valley **This is the first exit AFTER you go thru the Lehigh Tunnel, it's old exit #34.

Pay your toll, then take the left exit ramp and bear to the left. Turn left onto Rt. 209, then make an almost immediate left onto Harrity Road. Go over small concrete bridge (you'll see Platz's restaurant on the right). Follow Harrity Road to the end. Turn right, follow Pocono Whitewater signs up the mountain to Rt. 903. Then turn right onto Route 903 north and follow 3.8 miles to Pocono Whitewater Adventures/Skirmish USA. We're on the left, directly on 903.

Total Est. Time: 1 hour, 32 minutes / 79 miles (from Clinton)

Behavior - You will be attending not as an individual, but representing New Jersey Grade School Wrestling League. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated in any form. Not only does Skirmish reserve the right to remove you, we do too. If you aren't going to represent us in the proper manner don't come.
